Love to Match

One thing I love now MATCHING OUTFITS! Nana sent the girls their first matching outfits and they look so cute. Have to take advantage of now when they won't complain about them. Jay was very happy.

Why Worry...

My head has been racing for the last couple days. I guess it always is, but today it just bothered me. I always have so many things on my mind, always worrying about something. But, the Bible says we shouldn't be worried for our lives (Matthew 6:25), so I am not going to write a whole blog of the things I worry about. Instead, I am just going to say I am very thankful for my family. We had a great day and night. All we did was relax at home, play Candyland and go to bed. Thank you God for everything I have. I love my family.

Beginning Fall

This weekend was great. It seems like we did a lot. Fall is here so I have been really wanting a hat, so when we went out to Target Jay and I tried some on. I haven't bought one yet, but we had so much fun trying them on!

Then on Saturday I started Zumba for the first time. I went with a neighborhood friend. It was fun and tiring!! By the time the hour was up my poor legs hurt but I was in an awesome mood. Maybe this will help me get back to pre-baby weight. I'll be doing this twice a week so Yay! When I came back hubby was busy changing the lock on the door (that had rusted a little), and painting our door a brighter red (which we always wanted). I love the new red!

Painted the shutters of course too.

It looks nice and bright now.
Then we went to a Pizza place and Jay got to play the games after we ate. She whacked the gators, rode a carousel, and got many tickets. Then was able to choose prizes (she chose a blue dinosaur, a purple car, a butterfly, and a grasshopper). She was so happy! SO were we.

Of course Sunday we went to church which was great (Pastor's fearless series is awesome). And then we came home and I am now completely hooked on a new show. You may not believe it, but I was on Hulu (which is a site that lets you view almost any show on TV), and I found (don't as me how) a Korean drama that I love to watch called Playful Kiss. It's like a Korean Dawson's Creek. It's just cute and makes me smile, so every free minute I had, I watched the show and am now caught up to all the Hulu episodes. That's about it!! Looking forward for more Fall.

Had a great day with Jay today. Sometimes it seems like I can't give her all she needs. I can't play with her as much as I would like to, but today, since we went out and the upkeeping of the house was not keeping me busy, we just hung out. She is awesome and I love spending time with her. We just cruised Walmart for a while and then had lunch together. I'm going to have to do that with her more often.

She was so happy and relaxed and that continued when we were home.

Then I made rice krispie treats for our life group. They are one of my favorite snacks and just so easy to make! Yummy!

A little Baking and Growing

Yesterday I decided to bake some biscuits. I got a recipe out from my handy dandy cook book and got started. First problem I encountered was I didn't have cream of tartar. After a quick call to my mom, decided I could try without it. Then I mixed the ingredients (not really following the recipe, but adding my own quantities of ingredients). I was not really thinking it would be any good because when it was supposed to be a dry dough, it wasn't. It was a big mound of stickiness.

I was supposed to roll it out and cut out the biscuits, but it wasn't a dough, so I just kept grabbing a handful and plopping it on the pan. After each handful I had to wash my hands because they would be full of mush. But I was determined to at least bake them and see if they could taste good.

Hmmmm. Then I waited...

For the second batch I added a lot more flour and the mush turned into a dough and I was able to cut out circles!

Then came the taste test...

Hubby thought I was giving him something nasty (so was I). But we were both surprised. It was good. The first batch was just as good as the other batch if not better! Even Jay loved them (probably because they tasted more like cookies than biscuits). Yay!!!
On more news my little one had her two month check up. She did great. From 7 lbs 4 oz she went up to 12 lbs 13 oz, and from 18.5 inches she went up to 24.5 inches! The doctor even seemed a little worried that she had grown too much. I assured her that Jay had also been like that. Seems like we just have tall girls. After the appointment we went home and just had a relaxed day.

Another Mom Day

Being a mom is great because everyday something new is happening or being said. Yesterday afternoon Jay received her birthday gift from her uncle Ed. It was a big box and she was excited to open it. When she opened it she was even more excited. Her uncle and his family had sent her a set of Wall-E figurines and a big box of the most awesome blocks I had ever seen. They came with a big book of things to make with the blocks. Immediately we were on the floor with the blocks making things. I made her a house and then Wall-E and the rest of the robots got to play there. She had so much fun and as soon as hubby got home, she had even more fun. He started making her a bunch of different things with the blocks. He made her an airplane, helicopter, spider, ant, dog, and a bunch of other different things. It was fun to watch them play.

First thing this morning, of course, the blocks were already on the floor. Jay was quick to play with them. Nia on the other hand just woke up with a bad hair day because I couldn't find her brush after her bath. She's going to have a spiky 'do' all day.

I'm still working on the potty training and still having accidents. Luckily I have very supportive mom friends. Mrs. G is one of my favorite mommy's! She is always available with good advice. Now we are going to do some school time. Jay and I are working on reading and she is doing awesome. Almost teared up when she read her first word, which was 'cat'. Hoping to get a lot done today like exercise, dinner, school time, writing, and catching on to some of my favorite shows that started this week. They are all being nicely recorded on my DVR until I have time to watch them. Dancing with the Stars has to wait until I am nice and settled.

Rain and Rewards

I love the rain because it means that my grass is going to continue nice and green, but I like to have a few blue skies between rainy days. Today was another cloudy day (don't think it ever really rained) and I think my favorite part of rainy days now is Jay's pink umbrella. She loves it soo much and is so careful holding on to it. I enjoy watching her.

One thing I haven't enjoyed has been potting training. I've been feeling really frustrated lately because I
thought Jay would be trained way before she turned 3! So today, after a few good potty days, she had an accident on my couch. I was very upset. She had a time-out and couldn't play with any toys or watch tv for half an hour. At some point during this time-out I told her to go use the potty. She went and lo and behold she used it! I was so excited. She finally got to open a surprise reward that had been on display in our kitchen for over a week! She was so excited she kept repeating, "I knew I could do it!" Now I just pray that we can keep it up!

She was so excited to open her puzzle and get to
work on it!
We did it!

Oh, and here are some of my autumn decorating pics. Might as well make it look like autumn inside the house since it doesn't look like it outside. :)

Very cool verse for the season:
“Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.” Joel 2:23

Mighty Warrior!

We went to church this morning (love getting girls all prettied up). And church was awesome! I know I have heard the story of Gideon before, but it has never stuck like all the more familiar stories like David and Goliath or Noah's Ark. But today's message made it stick.
This is what I got from today's Word:
Dream Big. With God all things are Possible.
Now, I've always known this, but I really had to hear it again. It seems as if my dreams had been put on hold because I had these wonderful girls, but with God I can still accomplish my dreams (the big ones). I don't have to be afraid!! If God could use Gideon to defeat the Midianites with only 300 guys and a trumpet (and two more things I can't remember), than what do I have to fear!?

An angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." Judges 6:12
I left church feeling super motivated and ready to start working on my dreams!

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind".
2 Timothy 1:7

By the way if you are in the San Antonio area and want to go to a great church, check out Everyday Christian Fellowship. ( Great people, loving atmosphere, and powerful teachings!
So I started another wonderful day. But before yesterday was done we had one more thing to do. We went to the PetsMart to get Jay some new fish (we bought her a betta for her birthday and it died). We had a great time looking at some animals and picking fish. But the gold guppy didn't make it through the night, so we ended with one blue guppy and a black snail, which is fine.

Awesome Rainy Day

So for some reason I started Fall cleaning before I realized I was really Fall cleaning. I knew I was doing a lot because I was so tired I had to have a text conversation with Mrs. Ledbetter to make me finish what I was doing. Luckily, she is always a very motivating friend! Before I knew it, most of my house is clean!! Usually I plan and plan before doing heavy cleaning, this time it just happened. I started cleaning and then I just couldn't stop! It turned out great though and gave us a great excuse to do our fall decorating. So now my house looks very autumny and smells of pumpkin spice (my favorite candle smell)!! It is also slightly rainy outside and a little cloudy and all these things together just make me feel very at peace. With this peacefulness and a clean house we went out to go grocery shopping, that is where the downpour of rain started. It was raining so hard that we decided to wait it out in the McDonalds. Our good spirits were not dampened. Hubby was clowning around and girls were enjoying themselves. What a great day!

Terrible 3's???

So, just when I started thinking how awesome it is to not have to go through those supposedly "terrible 2's", Jay turns 3! She has not been three for a month and already she has spread baby powder all over the living room (including our tv), sugar all over the kitchen (almost including this computer), and then right before my eyes she took a bite of a make-up brush (not just a taste, a bite!). The good thing is that her imagination is growing in all sorts of ways. I hear her talking constantly, even when I am not around. On a lighter note her birthday was awesome. Of course, the Ledbetters came and some neighbors we recently met stopped by too. She chose to have a WALL-E birthday. This movie came out about two years ago so stores are no longer selling much birthday supplies for this. This means we had to order most of the stuff online. Then we decided to make our own cake, with fondant icing. It was super fun to make (hubby used his muscles well), and it turned out pretty good. I was very proud of our small cake! Hope you like it too! Our newest addition has been growing quickly too! She has rolls all over the place, and the cutest smile ever! I thought it would be alot more overwhelming having two kids, but, after getting past the hard start of breastfeeding, I notice that although it's more tiresome, it is definitely not impossible! Sometimes I wish I had more time, but I am used to doing what I have to do and staying as organized as possile while I do it. Now all I have to do is try to take it easy. I have been trying to do too much, and when it doesn't work (because one of the girls does something to interrupt) I lose my temper. This makes me feel anxious and not very nice. I have to remind myself to breathe. So I am going to try to focus on this:

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2
